If you or your business needs help navigating the increasing need for remote work as the result of the COVID-19 situation, we are here to help.
We expect there to be limited access to hardware due to manufacturing constraints, slowed delivery schedules, and other market stresses. Although we can help you find equipment to use in the interim, we can’t make any assurances of time to receive or deploy any ordered equipment.
For those who prefer to order their own equipment, we recommend a device with an i5 processor, at least 16GB of RAM, and Windows 10 Professional (or MacOS). For our customers on service contract, we have all the software you’ll need for antivirus and remote access, so you do not need to include any add-ons for that.
As always, avoid links or attachments in emails where you aren’t 100% sure about the source. Criminals exploit times of fear and uncertainty, and there have been increased cyberhacking incidents lately. Although they tend to be focused on government systems, it’s best for everybody to stay alert.
There are also a lot of coronavirus-themed domains that are malicious, with maps that ask you to download software to view/use the map, and similar tactics.
If we are not already handling your backups, check your current recovery plan and data to be sure that you can recover what you need quickly. If you don’t have a reliable backup provider, or are not sure about how to check on this, please contact us.
If your industry is one that is – or can be – specifically helpful or involved in this situation (ie. cleaning, medical, ministries, and many more), please let us know if we can help get the word out, and help you communicate it directly through your website, social media, email, and more.
What We Are Doing
In our offices, many of us already work remotely most of the time. We are also making sure to follow all of the CDC guidelines for cleanliness and to help avoid the spread of COVID-19.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Minimizing on-site support to the absolute necessities, and observing “social distance” while there. Nobody will visit a client site if they feel unwell in any way, or if they have been out of town recently (plus other considerations).
- Using virtual options (remote access, phone, and video meetings) for sales, staff meetings, and support.
- Cleaning our office daily according to the CDC guidelines.
We are committed to doing our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. This is not out of panic or fear, but steady adjustments that allow us to continue providing our best to you during this time.
Stay healthy and safe. We are here if you need anything.
